Today the big blue chips are moving, doing window dressing already? Don't ignore the penny stocks, they are the ones that give big returns. What happens early next month any other boosters ? Just wondering.....

I got this post from one of our investor. Like everyone else, I used to buy sell buy sell. It took me quite a while to realise the benefits of long term investment. Although sometimes it does not work out the way we wish it to so we still have to monitor it constantly.

Stocks that consistently create value do not need sell calls for many years. If there were a sell call at any time on Raffles Education during the last 4 years, it would not have been possible to enjoy a 100-fold increase in value. Likewise for Wal-Mart which went up 488-fold since 1980 and Nike's and Starbucks' meteoric rises would not have been achieved by an investor if he or she had sold it after it merely went up 10 times.

I have also continuously held Jardine Cycle & Carriage since Dec 2003 ($5.90) and SIA Engineering since Dec 2005 ($2.50). I did not sell during the May-June meltdown. But I did sell Capital Land at $4.95 at end-April. During the meltdown it came down to $3.80.

Cheers

Hi Elf,

Thanks:).

It is not surprising to find a Vietnamese babe riding a motor cycle. Yeah, I have never seen so many motor cycles on the road in a single country. I have to keep a close eye while crossing the road *ha* As I was having having lunch today, I was looking at the stock market page in the newspaper:).

US investment manager, Marc Faber said Vietnam equities has tremendous potential..............
