Seksun Buy-- The Sun is rising

The Board of Directors ("the Board") of Seksun Corporation Limited ("the Company") notes that there has been a significant increase in the trading volume of the Company's shares on Wednesday, 14 March 2007.

The Company is not aware of any reason for the movement in the trading volume other than certain rumours or media reports of possible merger and acquisition activities involving the Company or its shareholders.

The Company wishes to update that certain shareholders of the Company, from time to time, have been approached by parties who have expressed non-binding interest in an equity stake in the Company. Such discussions to date have never progressed beyond the preliminary stage and there is no certainty that any proposal, offer or transaction will transpire. The Company will make the appropriate and timely announcement to shareholders, where necessary.

In the meantime, shareholders are advised to refrain from taking any action in relation to their shares which may be prejudicial to their interests.

it's not a rumour. it's true that some shareholders have been approached
by potential investors according to Seksun.

 

Gee..anyone has clue why the counter fall from 59 to close flat at 55?

Looking back from the point I call for buy in this counter until this morning 59c, I think the offer price if materialize would be around 60c.

Seem that the take over might materialise judging from the surge in the price. The $1 mil dollar question is what is the take over price? X% premium over existing price?

 

Seksun Corp (SEKP.SI: Quote, Profile , Research) rose as much as 11.1 percent to S$0.55, on speculation that the firm was a potential takeover candidate, dealers said.

A company source told Reuters on Tuesday that the hard disk drive parts maker was in talks over a possible merger or an acquisition. 

 

Any indication of the possible take over price if it is true?

This counter attracts heavy buying despite the downfall in the market.

mebbie becoz of monday news reported by ST. 'Crowds snap up S48m in tech toys' prompted people to think tat tech stocks will rise since there is tech toys demand. I dunno, just a hunch.  Dont take my words too seriously. :)

It is in talks with potential merger partners or buyers, a company source told Reuters on Tuesday.



"A number of parties have shown interest in Seksun, and M&A talks are very common these days, as a lot of firms want to do M&A," the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "But so far, there is no conclusion," the source added.



Seksun, which has a market value of US$121 million, was listed on Sesdaq in 1994. It makes precision metal parts for the computer peripherals, consumer electronics, automotive and telecommunications industries.



Seksun shares surged as much as 12.1% to a two-week high of $0.555 in the afternoon after Reuters confirmed market speculation that the company was holding takeover talks.

In my opinion, a dividend yield of 2.4% is not very attractive.

 

Dividends of 0.8 cents as final and 0.5 cents as special payable on 30 May 2007.
