Transparency is obviously a must in any  market esp a small one like SGX.   It has shown that even the authorities at the exchange (or CDP)   felt there was a lack of it, so they are " going to mark sell orders" as one area hopefully giving some semblance of " transparency" ..   Could anyone explain to forumers what is " marking of sell order" ?
I know in overseas market esp the US, when you intend to sell short, you have pull the menu that indicates that what you are doing is selling short.   Only the person and the brokerage, and inevitably the exchange,   know that the order is a short order.
I wonder from Monday onwards (11 March 2013) what is the method of marking a sell short order?   Can any broker/remisier on the forum kindly explain? Thanks and cheers.

| Marking of Sell Orders | |   | | From 11 March 2013, SGX will require the marking of sell orders on its securities markets to further enhance transparency of market activities. SGX will publish daily reports on the total value and volume of short sales for each counter the next trading day, based on short sale data collected on the previous trading day. |

Today's rundown of pennies and some mid caps is a good sign.   At least there won't be much overheating in our market.   It is good to monitor a number of good penny stocks that had returned to square one prior to the hike in STI.

小 心 贪 , broking hse short action
It's quite strange, when it all seems so bullish in US and europe, STI is so quiet, vol low, blue chips hardly move,  and not able to hit 3314 when  Dow broke 2007 record high last nite.  Something is amiss....
Neverland u r scaring me....

Finally! Economic Recovery Is Starting to Pick Up Steam   Published: Wednesday, 6 Mar 2013 | 7:33 PM ET
Getty Images Stock-market bulls are finally getting some data to back up their bets that the U.S. economic recovery is picking up steam. The  Dow  busted through its 2007 high of 14,164.53 earlier this week and never looked back, egged on by encouraging economic data. The  Federal Reserve's  " beige book" report, named for the color of its cover, showed most of the 12 Fed districts with either " modest" or " moderate" growth at the start of the year and the  ADP employment report  showed 198,000 jobs added in February. That bodes well heading into Friday's jobs report from the government, which is expected to show 160,000 job gains, according to Thomson Reuters.
