SEOUL: North Korea's state media ramped its bellicose rhetoric up another notch Thursday, warning of a " thermonuclear war" as the UN Security Council prepared to vote on new sanctions against the state.
Following Tuesday's announcement by the military that it would rip up the 1953 armistice ending the Korean War, the North Korean ruling party's official mouthpiece, Rodong Sinmun, warned of an imminent conflict.
" With the armistice nullified, it would be no surprise if a global thermonuclear war breaks out," the newspaper said.
" The war will not be confined to the Korean peninsula," it said, reiterating Pyongyang's claims to have rockets capable of striking the US mainland.
While most observers shrug off such rhetoric, there are concerns that tensions on the Korean peninsula are escalating to the point where even a minor border incident could swiftly snowball into something more serious.
South Korea's defence ministry says the North is preparing to hold its own large-scale military manoeuvres next week, involving all three wings of the armed forces.

Ya, sifu.   Time really flies and things are totally different now. No more sarabat stalls or teh alia.   Shares trading are now computerised.   Remisiers no long have to shout orders and attend to 10 phones at his desk and straining his necks looking at the scoreboard..   Today they just sit and shake legs with commission money flowing in with no need to talk much or make efforts.

Yes sifu... teh sarabat is the same as teh alia...
In those old days, sarabat stalls were very common everywhere,
esp Waterloo Street...  Also, it was common at the time to see
people using binoculars to watch SGX stock prices written
with chalk on the big boards... lol...

The land if freehold but when they sell you it is leasehold.  You must be referring to Far East project in the east coast.

i din invest in non chinese area. but from my experience invest in properties in oversea must make sure the building already up liao with electricity water sewage all functioning.
n get their local lawyer to check whether the person or coy selling to u r the actually developer or landlord or not.
dont give money out until u r sure.
i do this in taiwan n china so far so good.
oya saw ur " freehold" u must check also the freehold means what.   some shrewd developer tell u tat piece of land is freehold but beware even in SG...freehold land is dictated by gov but the developer can buy tat land then developed as 99 yrs n sell to u as 99 yrs. so when u check tat piece of land u will see it as freehold but it is actually freehold by the developer n not by u.   in short after 99yrs the land return back to the developer.
