Underlying tone is still quite bearish. Not much 'meat' at this level ($3.70) because short term resistance at $3.80. Meaningful support is at $3.50.

CapitaLand Limited
announced had divested its entire 30% stake in Meridian Atlantic Sdn Bhd (“MA”) to a party unrelated to CapitaLand. The Sale is part of CapitaLand’s ongoing strategy to enhance capital productivity. MA, a property development company, owns 23 floors of a building in Penang , Malaysia known as Northam Venture Office Building . MA is in a net deficit position of RM7 million (approximately S$3 million) based on its management accounts as at 31 December 2009. The CapitaLand Group has fully written-off its cost of investment and the debts due from MA. The cash consideration for the Sale Stake of RM3,000 (approximately S$1,300) and the repayment of RM2.9 million (approximately S$1.2 million) in full settlement of debts owed by MA were arrived at on a willing-buyer willing-seller basis. Following the completion of the Sale , CapitaLand will recognise in its consolidated financial statements a write back of approximately S$1.2 million. MA will cease to be an associated company of CapitaLand.
