Isolator could share more openly his rationale  for longing or shorting a particular counter  at the time he calls for it, so we can have a better understanding of his thinking process, to stimulate a more objective discussion  among the forumers (and hopefully  with better results too!).  Would be  more useful  instead of  quoting  his favourite black box answer " I believe what  my screen tells me" ...

Since Isolator  ofter says he's " always wrong" , he can stand to gain by  being more open  his  methods and getting our feedback  and views as well?

I am developing more respect for Mr.Isolator.

He called a sell on GAR and a buy on MIDAS previously. Target I think for Midas was 0.84 and target for GAR, 0.66. In both positions, he has since reversed his calls. But with good reason.

For Midas, he closed his position at (I believe)  0.82 and almost immediately, it  fell two cents that day.  With GAR, when it was 0.70 plus, he called a  short on this. It took a long time but  eventually it fell to yesterday's low of 0.66.

Don't know what these two will do today but my admiration is based on one fundamental principle in trading. NEVER LOVE OR HATE A COUNTER. There is such a thing as over-priced or under-priced for all stocks. Except for companies with bad business models (i.e. Raffles Education,  Healthway, etc.) all other counters will offer opportunities to buy into at some point. Even AIA, as recent as one year ago there were fears of  insolvencies, is now the darling of Asia.

I am still long on GAR as I firmly believe this counter will hit $1.00 but it was not wrong for Isolater to sell and take profit. And now at his targetted price, to call a buy. Just don t know why he is sharing his strategy so openly. One would think that the smart play would be to play quietly.... Whatever, well-done Mr.Isolator.

I enjoy reading Isolator's posts but that is not to say I follow his trades blindly.   His posts offer me a different perspective which I find helpful as I would like to go towards more active trading in addition to my current style of swing and position.   My views of him as a confident and witty trader hasn't changed, despite all the names calling. :)   I believe a good trader should be able to long and short a market when the situation warrants it.

There is good learning if one is able to maintain objectivity and clarity.   But to blindly follow without having your own game plan is just courting trouble.

I'm not sure if my argument below is oversimplifying things, but although CPO is clearly in a downtrend, the current price of 67c is somewhat attractive in relation to the CPO price. Assuming that CPO price is strongly correlated and moves in proportion to  GAR stock price,  CPO price in last Sep  was in the RM2700/ton zone, and  GAR stock price was ard 59c. In Jan-Feb this year, CPO shot up to a peak of  over RM3900/ton, and correspondingly, GAR stock price went up to ard 82c. If the CPO price is now ard RM3300/ton (support is observed at ard RM3200/ton) and remains at this level (mid of 2700 and 3900), we can expect GAR stock price to stabilise at  roughly midpt of 82c and 59c, which is 70.5c??

If CPO price is steadily on downtrend, shouldn't GAR price be following suit? i.e. dropping further too?

Any views?
