Mathematical model is Technical Analysis.

It calculates the probability of a success / failure rate of a particular price pattern or event.

This helps to  eliminates the emotions of people (psychology part) when making trades and help to focus on facts and statistics.

The black box trading programs are pre-loaded with these algorithms to achieve this.

BBB = Super Computers.

My army fren laugh when I told him TA is accurate. He got a Master degree from NTU financial engineering (u heard b4?). Basically, the Prof use mathematical models and very complex computer simulation on the financial markets. They laugh when u mention abt TA and FA. They claim to be more zhun than both.

CapitaLand bought back shares yesterday at $2.42-2.45 each, its first ever, and first under the mandate to buy up to 85.38 mln shares. C-Land has been one of the worst hit property stocks in the current market weakness, and is now on 0.74x price to book of $3.29 a share. Yesterday’s $2.46 close is marginally above the August 24th low of $2.38, and well off 2009 recovery high of $4.43 (- 44%). C-Land peaked at $7.12 in Apr ’07. The commencement of the share buy-back program offers a reason to ACCUMULATE C-Land shares. (Note: C-Land is a participant in the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Real Estate Conference in New York on Sept 7-8.)
