Why is the price fluctuating and went down so much?

What is the progress of purchasing stake in Airport City Development Co Ltd (ACL)?

DBS recommends BUY with Target Price of $2.76

 Strategic purchase of ACL

• Acquires 53.1% of ACL giving it exposure to the

fastest growing segment of the logistics market –

airside cargo logistics

• Strengthens portfolio and market position; earnings

and valuation accretive

• Maintain Buy, TP S$2.76

2nd acquisition within 3 months of listing. In another

exercise that demonstrates management’s execution ability,

GLP is proposing to purchase a 53.14% stake in Airport City

Development Co Ltd (ACL) for RMB2483m. ACL is the sole

developer in the Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA)

air cargo handling and bonded logistics area. The deal will be

funded by an issue of new shares (57%) and cash (43%) and

result in a 2.8% expansion in share capital.

Strategic acquisition, enhancement in market position,

earnings and valuation. This acquisition is positive for the

group as the unique on-tarmac assets complements the

existing portfolio by giving exposure to the fastest growing

and high-value airside cargo handling and bonded logistics

area while strengthening the group’s positioning in the Tier 1

city. Cargo throughput in BCIA had grown by 17% in 2005-

09 and is expected to improve by 15% annually from 2010-

15. As a result, we believe rentals are likely to appreciate at a

robust clip over the same period. We expect the purchase to

be earnings accretive, with the initial completed GFA

boosting earnings by 2-3% and increasing as the

development pipeline is completed. Meanwhile, RNAV is

maintained at S$2.76, after factoring the enlargement in

share capital.

Maintain buy, TP S$2.76. We remain upbeat on the

prospects of GLP. Our BUY call and target price of S$2.76 for

GLP is based on parity to our sum of parts valuation, which

has factored in valuation of existing assets as well as

imputing a value of US$1380m for potential asset origination

through its ability to deploy its balance sheet capacity.

I think what he was trying to say is that if gains were a sure thing with this stock, the stock price would have risen by now.

The reason it hasn't is because people aren't sure yet. There is some uncertainty in the chinese economy, and a particular research report which rates GLP as fully valued at $2.10. Being a new IPO as well, there is some uncertainty...but IMO uncertainty is also where opportunity can be found

There are no sure things in the business of investing. This forum is overpopulated with short term speculative traders, hence the label of junk stock on GLP by such individuals simply because the price doesn't 'chiong' up and down like Genting

As a long term investor i am more interested in value and long term growth potential. IMO this stock offers this, but i definitely don't have absolute certainty, and the fact that i have a well diversified portfolio (as opposed to putting everything i have into GLP) is a reflection of that.

IMO current prices are good value. But please bear in mind i am not a punter. I pay for my stocks in cash and can keep them as long as I want. It seems my profile is not a common one here.

I have no idea how this stock will perform in the near term. But i think a guy prepared to hold this stock at least 6-9 months will probably make a decent amount of money, barring some meltdown in the Chinese market (which will demolish just about every other stock anyway)

Global Logistic Properties Ltd (“GLP” or “the Company”), has strengthened its presence in China ’s fast-expanding air cargo business segment through an equity-linked transaction related to Airport City Development Co., Ltd. (“ACL”). The arrangement will see GLP entering a sale and purchase agreement for an approximately 53% effective interest in ACL, the sole developer of the airside cargo handling and bonded logistics facility at the Beijing Capital International Airport (“BCIA”).

This counter had alot of hype on it.. with GIC. Although a growth stock, I think it has lost investors confidence after the transparency issue.

Happens.
