Let me try to explain. the 29 April date is what we call the record date, i.e. all shareholders recorded on the books at the end of 29 April, would be entitled to the dividends. But since there is usually some time lag between the time you buy the share and the time your name get entered into the list of shareholder, they come out what we call the ex-date, which is 27 April, in Kep Corp's case. What this ex-date means is that as long as you purchase the share before this ex-date, you can be certain that your name will be recorded in the shareholder list on 29 April, after taking into account the lag time. Hope I make things clearer for you. |

Tmr sure up one! Dow very strong tonight.

Stocks Jump After Earnings, Drop in Jobless Claims; European Debt in Focus- AP
Signs of an improving domestic economy are helping send stocks higher for the second straight day. European Union officials said again Thursday that Greece would have access to the money that will help it avoid defaulting on debt payments next month. The downgrades of Greek and Portuguese debt on Tuesday sent major indexes worldwide tumbling.
Looking attractive again....
Cheong!
I see... Thanks for explaining :)

Thank you. That's mean I'm right.

It's confusing. I think it should follow the ex-date 27 April. Any experts can advise?
I thought the notice meant to hold till 5pm on 29 Apr 2010 before shareholders are entitled to K-Green Trust units? no?
"Notice is hereby given that, the Share Transfer Books and Register of Members of
the Company will be closed on 30 April 2010 for the preparation of dividend
warrants. Duly completed transfers in respect of ordinary shares in the capital
of the Company (“Shares”) received by the Company’s Registrar, B.A.C.S. Private
Limited, at 63 Cantonment Road, Singapore 089758 up to 5.00 p.m. on 29 April
2010 will be registered to determine shareholders’ entitlement to the proposed
final dividend. Shareholders whose securities accounts with The Central
Depository (Pte) Limited (CDP) are credited with Shares at 5.00 p.m. on 29 April
2010 will be entitled to the proposed final dividend.

I'm holding. Hope that the price will surge confidently beyond $10 tomorrow after the release of Q1 results later today. Even if it stays below $10, I may hold until ex-dividend date of 27 Apr (next tues) to get dividend and free shares of their to-be launched green trust. |

Bought at $8.21 on 10 Dec 09; sold at $9.83 on 22 Apr 10; 5 lots.
After cum dividend, there is a high chance it will fall a bit. However, I strongly believe Keppel Corp has no problem hitting $11 or $12; it is simply how long it will take and what will happen in the meantime. For those who bought Keppel at $3.75 or $ 5, I strongly encouraged them to hold for prices above $13 or $14. This company pays so dividends.

Wow! $1.62 per share, that's $1,620 per lot. At what price did you enter and exit?

Good luck, I am sure it will not be long before the bulls will have a decisive victory on the $10 territory.
I managed to make $1.62 per share - better to keep the small profit and leave the rest to the professionals. |

Seems like a lot of shortists at 10.......
Many thanks. So what's the price(mostly likely) per lot of K-Green trust?
You will get 1 K-Green unit for every 5 shares of Kep Corp. So if you have 1 lot of Kep Corp shares, you will get 200 units of K-Green. An application will be made to the SGX to open a temporary counter for 1 month after K-Green is listed to facilitate trading of odd lots. Hope this answers your query.

If I got 1 lot of Keppel shares, how many units of K-Green will I get? Anyone can advise? Thanks. |
