Europeans Account For 51% Of Foreign Trading In Japan Stocks
TOKYO (Nikkei)--Europeans accounted for 51.4% of the trading in Japanese stocks by foreign investors between January and June, the first time since the 1990s that their share of the transaction value has topped 50% in a six-month term, the Tokyo Stock Exchange said Friday.
Money from oil producing countries, which have profited from higher crude prices, flowed into the Japanese market through European institutional investors, analysts said. European investors have been net buyers for the past three and a half years, purchasing more Japanese shares than they sold even during the stock market's recent correction phase.
