x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Founded in 1998, Yamada Green Resources (Yamada) is the latest S-Chips agriculture play listed on SGX. It is a leading supplier of self-cultivated shiitake mushroom in Fujian, China, and has a total cultivation area of 2,614mu. In 2007, the company began to focus on the domestic PRC market that has since accounted for >70% of its revenue. FY09 recurring net profit was up seven-fold to RMB76m from RMB10m in FY07, driven by strong domestic sales growth and 10ppt gross profit margin expansion to 40%. Despite its short track record and single product focus, we see Yamada as a key upstream candidate for investors looking to ride on the fast raising China consumption, high agriculture prices and a sharp turnaround in sentiments towards small-cap S-Chips. At 3.5x FY11 P/E and 43% net profit CAGR over FY09-12F, near-term share price could react positively to its quarterly earnings momentum. Valuation: We use P/E as our preferred valuation methodology as share price will likely respond positively to its quarterly earnings momentum. Given that Yamada is at early phase of a growth path similar to that of China Green, we peg our target price at 5x FY11F P/E, 60% discount to China Green’s historical average of 12x P/E. Our target multiple is deemed undemanding as compared to China Minzhong’s 9x (BUY, TP$1.78) and Sino Grandness’ 6x (BUY, TPS$0.56) that we used in deriving their valuations.
