Virtual Map's appeal dismissed

THE High Court on Tuesday dismissed the appeal by online map provider Virtual Map against a District Court's decision that the company had infringed the copyright of the Singapore Land Authority (SLA). The High Court also upheld the injunction granted by the District Court prohibiting VM from reproducing SLA's street directory maps, and distributing or selling reproductions of the maps. VM was also ordered to compensate SLA and pay its legal costs.
