I think most of the losses are mark-to-market losses. No real loss in value. Most REITs have stable cash inflows and contracts are renewed every few years (ie. much of the cash inflows not affected until aft recession, in which case they will continue to rise.) Therefore, what I'm trying to say is that fundamentally, there is no real loss in value, just that people unwilling to pay for them. That's why the prices dropped so much. |

I m currently invested in REITs mostly. this was since last year so u can imagine my losses to date :( my plan is to stay on course (if i still can tahan) with good div yield stocks. can anyone recommend stocks which pay good dividends and stable ones at that? Thanks for any advise from teh gurus here. |
