Haha! Many have said it over and over again: "its not the end of the world" yet. And for life, someone mentioned it again "it's not the length, but depth". |

AK opine that as far as the so-called 30% bumi's share issue, our local may not keen to step over the courseway, be it the new Iskandar Trade Hub. |

Probably axe mostly in New York. Singapore is headcount freeze and expanding into malaysia to cut some headcount cost. Like wat electronic did. eq. Call centre Girl paid about 3k sin/mth excluded perk and expensive electricity, office rent and gst. If transter to JB girl paid 2k RM exclude alot of perk and office rent discount 60% and electricity 60%/ no gst. Some not so critical to the bank operation, might be slowly moving into JB to cut cost i think. This Recession will accerlate processes like this where companies looking to reduce operation.cost. |

Double/single income when married will also take into account. Most importantly is to manage the finance properly. Some ppl interest is spending in car, some ppl spend in travelling. I think life is a balance if need to, use it. But spend within means. |

I agree completely with cashiertan. It is much better to have peace of mind than to own luxury items just to show off.

they will kana soon. in fact history has shown ppl like them will kana soon. living on the high life is good IF you can afford it. never on credit.. if u all realised, every recession makes rich ppl who are stash with cash richer for the cashless rich will be shaken out. Cash is king my friends! never play/invest/speculate/ and LIVE a lifestyle that is beyond your means. IF earn less than 3.5k, dun buy car. if earn less than 8k, dun buy condo, if dun earn more than 15k, dun buy bangalow. Never invest your 6 months salary of savings. never contra! make sure if u margin, lose at most your spare cash that u put into the cfd/margin acct, never use credit cards or personal loans to clear debts. face the fact! if u are losing alot in tradings, it SIMPLY means u r doing the WRONG things and need to STOP. TRust me. I lost big money big time TWICE! once in 2001 and last in 2003 (and in 2003 i lost more than 2001) to realise i am not doing it right!

i am jobless for quite sometime yet i am very happy with my current life. in fact losing a job in the past leads me to where i am now. it is how u think and move on with life than to sulk over the problems. i know some are older than me,, blah blah blah. but than that doesnt means they shouldnt move on. in fact the earlier the wake up their ideas and move into the future the better. no point sulk and makes ppl affect ppl ard u.furthermore make lesser is never worst than not making any at all. no point crying over spilled milk. if need to downgrade the house , go ahead and do it. if need to sell car than do it. if need to be bankrupt than too bad. in fact i met a bankrupt once and he taught me alot! he work hard to clear his debt from scratch and 5 years down the road, he cleared his debt is making more than before he bankrupt. being bankrupt wake him out from the singaporean cocoon. now as a employer myself rather than employee. i will rather employed a happy man than a sad man. so those who are employee plz take note for i am speaking in the position as a employer. |

Credit card rate increase are for those who do roll over credit month to month. Not affected if you pay on time. Like if u got good rating the rates for your credit line keep coming down de, something like that. The bad rating customer will just keep paying more and more. Worst charges are the late charge, min $50 to $80 for late paying customer per month. See their credit balloon even paying mini sum per month. |

Errrr . i think they means cards rates for US cards should go up , unless MAS approve the rate hike else i think should stay the same as current rates. (just my view, havent check with MAS) didnt really want to ask MAS after its reply to Tan Kin Lian on the the MiniBonds issues.. |

besides ... what's the principle here ... if the banks lose money in other areas .. they can increase the interest as they like ... and by not using their cards their revenue will drop further and give them another reason to increase the interest even further ..?
