With calculated risk, CFD is a better tool than shorting....especially when market indicators

or when the stocks looked overextended.

its not dangerous....it will only be dangerous if one has no control over his/her feelings.....CFD allows you to leverage..your existing trading account only allows you to short 1 day, be it the final price is up or down. Even if you have 1 day to play and have the same mentality, hoping to recover your lose at the end of the day, you are basically gambling and may end up losing more.

as long as one has no strategy or plans on when to exit, it will still be dangerous for someone to use CFD..just imagine short and $1 and rise to $1.10 on the first day..player will think "hmm...i still got 29 more days..sure will drop one day" and the price keeps going up to $1.30 at end of 1 month...this player has to cough out $0.30 X 50000shares = $15,000 excluding interest and any other charges.

im going to zzz....market down due to profit taking....holdings all long term.... past few days lessen my paper loss...am still happy wahaha. i go zzz now hibernating begins.

actually its not about guts...but rather prudence...say if u can only afford to lose 500..and u short price at $1 for 10 lots = S$10,000 ....if price rise to S$1.05, you just buy it back to cut your loss and treat it as going to casino for a few hours...but if drop..use this profit as your startup capital to play short..so u got nothing to lose.

my only question is...if now i possess 10lots...if i short 10lots...arent im selling my own stocks? so in order to short, i need to sell 10 more lots?

the 100dollars levy is set by the gov. both casino has to make singaporeans n PR pays. it doesn't go to the casino the 100 dollars collected.it goes to charities.
