gold is THE only true stored value of money..

if u compared $100 of cash vs $100 of gold from the time u were born..

guess which one had appreciated substantially in value up to today's date..

Investor Sentiment On Singapore Returns To Pre-Crisis Level

SINGAPORE, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- Investor sentiment on Singapore has returned to pre-financial crisis levels, according to a quarterly survey by ING, the global financial services group.

The ING Investor Dashboard Survey said the Singapore sentiment index jumped 168 per cent to 150 for fourth quarter 2009 from 56 in fourth quarter 2008, and maintained its optimistic level from 149 in third quarter 2009.

The results indicated Singapore investors were confident the worst was behind them and were poised for more market activity in 2010, ING said in a statement Wednesday.

It said the Singapore index was at an all-time high since the survey was introduced in third quarter 2007, adding that the strong recovery in investor confidence followed the positive performance in the financial markets and the improvement of the regional economies in 2009.

ING also said investor sentiment in Singapore was one of the highest in Asia, ranking after the high-growth markets of India and China, and export-driven Taiwan.

Singapore investors were positive about the local economy and many were still optimistic that the economy would continue to improve in the first quarter of this year despite diminished expectations for improvement of the US economy in the same quarter, ING said.

Singapore investors largely expected both the financial services and technology sectors to drive Singapore's economic growth this year, and they also expected gross domestic product (GDP) growth to reach or exceed 4.0 per cent in 2010, it added.

They were also more confident about job security with the improving economic situation, and continued to be positive on the local stock markets and would see further upside in first quarter 2010, ING said.

Currently, 64 per cent of Singapore investors are invested in local stocks, with 58 per cent invested in the financial services sector, 50 per cent in information and telecommunications, and 46 per cent in construction and real estate.

ING said Singapore investors were also positive on the property markets and see slight upside in the first quarter of the year.

Currently, 23 per cent of investors are leveraging local residential real estate as an investment tool.

The survey also highlighted on the rising inflation and interest rate hikes that are seen as key risks in 2010.

Currently, 60 per cent of Singapore investors expected inflation to rise in first quarter 2010 while 81 per cent expected inflation to rise in 2010, ING said.

About 40 per cent of Singapore investors also expected domestic interest rates to rise in first quarter 2010 while 49 per cent expected domestic interest rates to rise this year, it added.
