If the PR can buy resale HDB in Spore at market price and buy another property back home, what is there to complain? His property is not subsidized by govt anyway..the only thing is he doesnt have to serve NS but his kids will need to, this PR is also facing the same problem of rising living cost in Spore as this PR is staying in Spore, whatever problem Sporean face, this PR is facing also...as a Sporean, I dont see PR as a treat, without them, basically who is gg to work, pay taxes to support our aging parents, Sporean want easy job, high pay, overseas holiday every year and early retirement...let the PR's taxes and CPF help us..dont shoo them away, just control the quality of PR, make sure they really bring benefits to the economy...or else we'll regret for sure..

remember what was said in the TV, it's all about election. It's just timing........it's so easy an strategy and effective but just have to drag till now.
If there is no near term election, wonder when will this be dragged till.........As real decent citizens(not rich ones), all these measures really please them as to why let PR enjoy the purchase of HDB and their hearts are not here. we can't help it if there is not enough manpower that we let them come and work here and make money. A citizen has to take good and bad of it's country including the fair or unfair strategies of govt...........They are here making money, some even have extra to buy a home back home and when they feel like leaving this country that they have benefited they just sell the HDB and get an lucrative some of profit. For a decent citizen here, we are facing the rising living standard, many have to work within budget to serve the housing loan and yet facing the stress of seeing the property prices being steer up by foreign forces adn we were asked to adjust , adapt and accept................I guess our govt knows about this and now doesn't want to lose the hearts of it's citizens before election so........after election.........we shall see again if we are continueing being care of in this big scale.

oh no....look who's talking?!?! are we gonna be "caged" up in PIGEON HOLES ?!?!? gosh...or may end up worst than those "terriorist" housing facilities in Guantamo Island used by USA for their war criminals?!?! yucks! :P
==============================================================
SINGAPORE - The quality of life in Singapore will not be heavily affected even if the population were to hit 7.5 million people, said Dr Liu Thai Ker, the former chief executive of the Housing and Development Board and the Urban Redevelopment Authority.
Asked what he thought was the "appropriate size" for Singapore's population after a Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) lecture yesterday, Dr Liu said: "Since we have planned for 5.5 million people (in the Singapore Concept Plan 1991), if we increase ... to, say, 6, 6.2 million, I think that additional 10 to 12 per cent will not make a huge difference."
There are still the islands of Pulau Ubin and Pulau Tekong to fall back on, quipped Dr Liu, who was addressing the issue purely from a planner's perspective.
"If we have to grow to 7.5 million, personally I think it would not cause a deterioration of the environment.
"But beyond that, we need to do some re-thinking," he added.
Dr Liu, who chairs the CLC advisory board and is director of RSP Architects, spoke on the importance of urban planning in his lecture.
Singapore is the only success story of urbanisation in the 20th century in terms of dealing with high population density and high-rise living, he said.
Foreign visitors are always surprised when they learn the Republic is home to 30 golf courses and seven airstrips.
"Good planning can help you have your cake and eat it," said Dr Liu.

I do not say, it is a bad counter, infact it is a good counter, only I try to say, SGX at Sgd. 7.7 is too much above average value(over value) comparatively to general market fair value. Hence the expected short to medium term capital appreciation rate will be below average on your general equity investment portfolio!

Fundamentally very good yet with worst market buying sentiment, WHY? I regard something to do with unhealthy SGX's market mechanism system! They have place liquidity (hence create more volume trading . . . revenue rather than quality of individual counter performance in their risk management evaluation).
I should say improving SGX trading revenue and global competiveness advantages should begin with any effective QUALITATIVE measure but not with exaggerated QUANTITATIVE, and averse RISK MANAGEMENT measure in our going on global financial deleveraging process economic circumstances!

DJ MARKET TALK: Singapore Private Home Prices May Fall 10% - BNP
0022 GMT [Dow Jones] Singapore private residential prices,
especially for mass-market homes, may fall 10% next year following
recent government measures to further cool property market, says BNP
Paribas. Notes latest measures poorly timed given increasing housing
supply over next few years, expected slowdown in demand due to smaller
population growth. Adds upgrading by public housing dwellers to private
homes has stagnated over past year, with demand from this group expected
to stay low in coming years given more choices as government increases
supply of new HDB flats. "With the new measures, we believe
speculative/investment purchases will reduce significantly." Expects
sales of new private homes in coming years to fall to 8,000-9,000
annually from 14,851 in 2009, 10,117 so far this year. Prefers Singapore
REITs such as Ascendas REIT (A17U.SG), CapitaMall Trust (C38U.SG) over
developers. (frankie.ho@dowjones.com)

Maybank eyes foreign currency deposit market
Shortly after it shook up the home loan market with mortgage rates below 1 per cent, Maybank’s Singapore unit is now launching attractive rates for its foreign currency time deposits.
For deposits of at least $10,000, it is offering interest rates of up to 5.4 per cent per year for the Australian dollar and up to 4.15 per cent for the New Zealand dollar.
The rates will be extended to both fresh funds as well as funds in existing time deposits. |

I should say, BBs select the wrong counter " CHINA BEARING"(too strong upward resistances ahead" , if only "CHINA JISHAN" has been selected as the investment target, they could have pushed up easily to >Sgd. 0.125 without any substantial obstacles! . . . . it just a pity and too bad, I feel sorry about that.

SILVER is not S chip. Irrelevant posting I should say!
tankuku ( Date: 08-Sep-2010 19:30) Posted:
Experts said that the thing with silver is that when it moves up, it does so sharply. So it’s riskier because of greater volatility, unlike gold.
In London, spot silver hit $19.91 a troy ounce on Monday, up 0.4 per cent. The metal is trading just under the $19.92 intraday peak it hit on Friday, the highest since March 2008.
The metal is attracting hedge funds and other short-term investors. Speculative bets on rising silver prices on the New York-based Comex market last week hit their highest level since December. But as demand returned this year from industrial consumers, prices rose sharply, even outperforming gold. Silver prices have risen by 18 per cent since the beginning of the year, ahead of gold’s 14 per cent gain in the same period.
Do buy some silver to gain some profit as well as diversify.
Good luck
