x 0 		Too risky to vest for me... Africa is a very volatile countries in the continent. The major neighbours (South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Zambia) are farily politically stable... but I personally don't know much about Mozambique... Good luck if vested!

Viettel expands coverage in Mozambique. Hopefully deals will flow to Ntegrator soon..

" On May 15, 2012, Viettel, one of the world’s fastest growing telecom operators, launches its first African mobile Network in Mozambique and is seeking opportunities to expand investment in other African countries.

 
  • In Just over a year, Viettel has helped propel Mozambique onto the list of Sub-Saharan Africa’s top three countries in terms of fiber optic cable networks.

     
  • Viettel has become the largest mobile coverage network in Mozambique, right at the launch, doubling the coverage level required by the licensing body.

     
  • Viettel has been among the first corporations in the world providing free Internet access to all schools.

     

In just over a year since being licensed on January 10, 2011, Viettel has built 12,600 kilometres of fiber optic cable and 1,800 mobile stations in Mozambique. This network represents 70% of the total Mozambique’s fiber optic cable network and 50% of the country’s mobile stations. The system has helped triple the density of Mozambique’s telecom infrastructure (increasing the length of fiber optic cable network and number of mobile stations per one million inhabitants in Mozambique by 2-3 times), making it one of the world’s fastest growing telecommunications networks and placing the country among the top three nations in Sub-Saharan Africa in terms of fiber optic cable systems. "

Warrant 12 (should have around 50 to 60 million warrants  left) expiring October 2012 conversion at 1.7 cents and Warrant 13 (should have around 140 to 150 million warrants left)  expiring December 2013 conversion at 2 cents. Expect volatility when it is close to expiry. This is because most of the warrant holders got it for free since day one (W12 and W13 was traded thinly until recent weeks) and  some will choose to convert and sell for profits instead of hold for longer terms.

There were Arbitrage of 0.2 to 0.5cents  last week and two weeks ago, where the holder of mother shares sells their holding and buy back the warrants and convert them to mother shares with at least 0.2 cents to 0.5 cents of advantage. Hence there are higher trading volume for both warrants and mother shares. If you check the company announcements, you  will be able to  see that some of the major shareholders were doing just that. Since the Warrants 12 is nearing expiry, there will be more conversion as long as the warrants is in the money --- convert at 1.7 cents and sell  higher... Expect more volatility.
